Summer Priorities

I'm ready for a vacation! I want to have an opportunity to enjoy the Summer, but I'm afraid that it is going to fly on by and we are going to be too dang busy to enjoy it. I don't want to wake up one morning and realize it is already September, and the Summer is gone again. We always make so many plans - fishing, camping, etc, but then we never follow through with them.

It doesn't even have to cost much money. Nope, hotel deals aren't a worry when you are camping in the great outdoors. The dogs like that plan, because it means they can go too ;-)

It just seems like, along with the warm weather and sunshine, comes various commitments each weekend.

A customer at work the other day gave me some great advice. He said, "It's all about priority. If particular plans or goals are made a priority, then they will happen."

He's right - We are just going to have to make these things priorities in our life!

Just Put It On The List

(c) Misty DawnS

Every day, while at work, I add things to my "To Do" list whenever I think of something. The next day, I add more. However, I don't seem to be crossing anything off that list! Remember that routine or schedule I kept talking about discovering? Nope, haven't found it yet. But, I have faith. Things will calm down.

We've had my step-son here visiting for the past two weeks. So, time that would usually be spent doing other things have been spent visiting with him, since he will only be here until the 27th.

I won't be around much this weekend, because we are taking my step-son fishing (if it doesn't rain) for his last weekend here. However, Camera-Critters will still be available - So, don't forget to post your critters!

Getting Older

Well, my birthday is a week from today. Yep, I guess I am supposed to be concerned about getting 'old', but I'm not. I don't feel old, and I am not worried about getting older or the concerns that go along with it, such as the need for resurgence or other anti-aging products.

My husband, on the other hand, is twelve years older than I, and he stresses about aging. I figure, you can't stop it, so why not just enjoy life and be happy however you are. I laugh whenever we see the commercials or shows, such as the resurgence infomercial, and my husband turns to me and tells me that I won't be laughing twelve years from now.

Oh well, even if the day comes when I am using murad resurgence or dying my gray hairs, my husband will still ALWAYS be twelve years older than I. So, I'll always be able to tease him about that.

Summer LOVIN'

(c) Misty DawnS

(c) Misty DawnS

I know I am repeating myself again, but I LOVE Summer. OK, so it isn't officially Summer yet, but you know what I mean. I love nothing more than being able to wear shorts, short sleeves, and sandals on my walks, while feeling the warmth of the sun. I love seeing the beautiful blue skies and the gorgeous birds, butterflies, and dragonflies against those skies. I love waking up to the sound of birds chirping. I.Love.Summer. You'll probably get sick of hearing me talk about all the things I love about Summer and get sick of seeing my Summer photos. No, I'm definitely not someone who should go out and buy some Winter Park real estate.

Summer Photos

(c) Misty DawnS

Get used to it. You'll be seeing lots of butterfly, dragonfly, insect, and flower photos from me for quite a while. Summer is almost here, and the flowers and flying critters are proof of that. I just can't resist taking shots of all of the critters and flowers... yes, even if I already have photos of them. Hey, I might get better photos than what I already have.

Just wait! Eventually, I will get that dream DSLR, and, then, I'll be taking and posting photos of EVERYTHING! hehe. G, I can feel your excitement from here. You're trilled, I can tell. hehehe.

Neighborly Concern

(c) Misty DawnS

Believe it or not, we don't have any rain in the forecast for several days! Hubs says that now we will hit a dry spell and everyone will be whining about that (You know I won't be!).

Now... if only I can figure out how to continue my routine of going for walks in the park during my lunch hour. You see, people around here tend to look out for each other. Recently, there was a bear sighted in the small town I work in. Irregardless of the fact that the bear was later sighted in a town many miles away, people still feel they need to look out for me and advise me to 'not go wandering off in the park'. Seriously people - the bear is in a whole different county now! I appreciate the concern, but geesh. ;-)

*Sigh* I thought the park was supposed to be a family-friendly and safe place. I guess I'll just have to enjoy nature by sitting in some patio furniture in my back yard so I'm not at risk of anything getting me. ;-)

Home Sweet Home

(c) Misty DawnS

We found the perfect house out here in Podunk!
Don't you just love it?
I certainly do. I even daydream about it,
and also want to make special trips just to see it.
No, I'm not hoping it's for sale, so I can buy it and more in!
I just find this house intriguing and full of mystery.
I wonder about the stories it could tell
about the family who used to live within those
walls, which are now old and falling down.
There's something about this house - It grabs my interest every time I see it.

Blowing In the Wind

Yep, that's pretty much how I've felt all weekend...(c) Misty DawnS

I'm wondering - is it ever NOT windy here in The Middle of Nowhere, Missouri?
Seriously!

Worry

(c) Misty DawnS

When I'm very worried, as opposed to the normal constant worry that is normal for me, I go through phases. First, I try to act as if everything is fine, but I tend to over-compensate this by rambling and blabbering on and on about anything and everything from the birds at my feeders to the comforter sets on sale in this week's flier. Then, it progresses to the phase of being quiet, withdrawn, can't even think straight or devise a logical thought, so why bother.

I'm at the latter phase right now. In my brain, I logically know that I shouldn't allow myself to be at that phase yet, because I don't know if there is really a need to be there. However, no one told the rest of me that.

Just Being Silly About Stuff

I need a minute... to think! OK, actually, I need a couple days. Then again, maybe a week... or two (hehe).
Better yet... I need to go for a walk with my dad and the wolf! After the walk, we could go over to Aunt J's with chips and dip and have BLTs and Seven Layer Salad *Yummmmy*
Or, I could get one of those inflatable boats so I could go see my BBFF Tammy. I need the boat because it's flooding where she's at in Canada. Put the coffee on Tam, and keep your eye out for a little chic to come floating up to your door. ;-) Then, Tammy could jump in the boat, and we could make our rounds visiting Barb, Autumn, Anna, The Fab Four (Stacey, Jen, D, B/S), and lots of other bloggers. Oh yeah, we'll take that boat clear to Germany and see Sanni and Jersey too! WoooHooo - BOAT TRIP (Get it? That's instead of 'road trip').

Yes, I realize that I'm being completley goofy and sound like I'm losing my mind. Thank goodness it is Friday! I had intended and hoped that Hubs and I would be able to go shoot some pool tonight to celebrate my new job. However, I think I'm too tired. Besides, I want to instant message with my step-daughter, Tam, Bear, and Barb tonight (hehehe). Maybe I can sleep in tomorrow, and we could go play pool Saturday night instead. That'd be lots of fun... it's been a long time since we've done anything fun together.

Back to Normal... I hope

(c) Misty DawnS

I'm back. You have probably been wondering what the heck I've been doing.

No, Hubs and I didn't get some good flight deals and take off on a vacation. Although, that certainly does sound nice right about now. Well, I'm finally getting over that horrible and evil flu that I got from Hubs. I got over that just in time, to spend this week working as a fill-in at the insurance company.

So, that's what I've been doing. I tried to post a Sky Watch photo yesterday morning before I left for work, but the internet wasn't cooperating, and I ran out of time and needed to get to work.

Hopefully, I'm back to my regular posting now, provided no more unforeseen things occur. I hope I haven't lost too many of my regular readers ;-)

Why Can't I Be Irresponsible?

(c) Misty DawnS

Yes, I have issues! You see, I have a very good and intelligent friend who always gives me fantastic advice and teachings on digital photography and digital cameras. Well, after the whole very depressing episode with the camera we 'thought' we bought, Bear (my friend) suggested that I look at the specs of another camera. This camera is a Sony and is scheduled to be released at the end of this week. It has very impressive specs, and I think I would absolutely love it. Here's the kicker - it's even CHEAPER than the other camera we 'thought' we bought.

So, here's the thing. You can do a directbuy from Sony, and they will ship the camera as soon as it is released, which they are estimating to be on Friday. One of the purchase options is a kit which includes two Sony lenses with camera. Bear looked at the kit for us and said that he believes it is a good deal. So, my husband told me to go ahead and pre-order it. You'd think with all the whining and talking about a new camera I've been doing that I would have it ordered and be excitedly waiting for it to arrive - right? Wrong. I haven't ordered it. Why? Because I'm sitting here worrying about finances and convincing myself that I should be responsible and use the money towards bills rather than a camera. Why do I have to be so darn responsible? I think I need some sense knocked into me (which my step-daughter is threatening to do if I don't order the camera).

Thursday Thirteen #1

I'm having one of those days of many different thoughts and ideas bouncing in and out of my brain, so I decided I would do a Thursday Thirteen. The meme which allows me to type about thirteen things of my choosing. I can talk about anything from moonbeams to car spoilers and it's perfectly alright. So, without wasting anymore time, here's my Thursday Thirteen...

Thirteen Random Things which are
Bouncing In & Out of My Brain Today

1. Remodeling/Home Improvements - I can now picture the rooms when I walk out into the addition area. I can't help but wonder how we are going to come up with the money to finish it though.

2. Blogging - I start when I wake up and end when I go to sleep. Sometimes, I even dream about blogging. It's really aggravating when I have a great post worked out in my head and don't write it down; go to sleep; and wake up in the morning and can't remember it. I love blogging, I love the friends I have made, and I also earn a small income from blogging. So, blogging has become very important to me.

3. Dogs - How the heck did they get the door open? A guy stopped by this morning to have us sign some papers. I heard him pull in and then heard Tag going nuts. I instantly though "Why they heck did Hubs leave him out there when he knew we had someone stopping by?" Later, Hubs informed me that he had not let the dogs out... How the heck did they get the door open???

4. Insurance Company - I know I have to work there on Wednesday, but I may possibly need to work there on Monday too. She is supposed to call me today to let me know if I need to work Monday or not.

5. Taxes & Quickbooks - Oh yeah - I seriously need to get on that! I seriously need to quit procrastinating on that. Ugh - I don't even want to think about it.

6. Photography - It's always on my mind. When will be my next opportunity to go take pictures. How can I improve... improve... improve. Lately ideas for making some money with my photos has been on my mind a lot. Which photos would sell if I hung some up at the local businesses? Would the businesses even agree to that? How the heck do you decide what to charge? Should I try to sell online?

7. Going for a Walk - We had snow last night and have cold temps today. Oh well, I'll just bundle up when I go for a walk. Must.Take.Pictures.

8. Printer - It really aggravates me that I have a router with print server, but the print server won't work with the new laptop because it uses Vista

9. Graduation & Step-kids- My step-son graduates from high school this summer, and my step-daughter graduates from college this summer. Geesh. Both my step-son and step-daughter would like to come out and visit this summer, and I'm excited about both visits.

10. Business Ventures - We've been discussing some business ventures. This is interesting, inspiring, stressful, exciting, and scary all at the same time.

11. Dad - He's ALWAYS on my mind. Mostly, I devise ideas of how to convince him, his girlfriend, and the wolf to move out here.

12. I'm angry at the attitudes of some certain people - Not going to expand on that right now.

13. Money - Yeah, that's the big one. Lots of thoughts on that one. I'm not making enough - how to make more - getting money to purchase cattle - money to finish the house - money for the bills - what can I do to make more money (oh yeah, I already said that one - sorry, it's the thought that is in my mind the most).
