New Breed?

(c) Misty DawnS

Yes, that is my Molly. Yes, you are right - she doesn't look quite right. Hubs shaved her! No, I'm not mad at him. Molly isn't mad at him either. You see, she needed shaved, because she has such a thick and long coat, and over the Winter, her undercoat became unhealthy and matted, due to eating cheap dog food and my not getting her brushed out enough. So, Hubs decided to help her feel better during the Summer. Boy, does she love it. You can tell just by looking at her that she feels much better. Well, except for in the above photo, and that is because she wanted me to quit taking photos and play with her.

Although Tag would prefer his idea of completely natural dog food (He goes crazy over meat), now we have put all three dogs back on the better, and, of course, more expensive dog food. It is so much healthier for them, though, and you can really see the different it makes in how they look, how much they eat, how they feel, and how much energy they have. Of course, Maggie May never lacks in energy. Maybe I should start checking into holistic dog food, since these three all think they are complete angels. ;-)

Stormy Day

I'm filling in at the insurance ageny today.
I got here over twenty minutes early, because I was trying to beat a thunderstorm.
Sometimes, I feel like all the weather is here is thunderstorms and high winds.
This is my last day working here. They are sad. I feel guilty for skipping out on them, but I have no choice - I have to earn a full-time income.

You know that your dogs rule your life when you are telling your husband, "No, you can't go anywhere today, because I have to work... So, you can't leave, beause that would leave the dogs home alone during a thunderstorm." I'm not too big of a person to admit that my dogs own me.

I have a sinus infection now. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this. I had not been sick for a very, very long time. In fact, Hubs was even saying, "Misty never gets sick. She's too mean to get sick, I guess." Then, I got that flu he had, which was all in my chest. After two weeks of that, I had a bad sore throat for several days. I guess it was all just moving from my chest to my head/face. Oh joy. My face feels like I've been in a fist fight. Oh well, it could be worse.

Well, I better go get some other things done. I'll be back :-)

My Canine Workaholic

(c) Misty DawnS

Tag had a great couple of days yesterday and Tuesday. He worked with 'Daddy' all day long on both days, which makes him happier than I can possibly explain. Yesterday, I walked out back, and Hubs and Tag were taking down some fence that we don't need anymore. This picture is of Tag trying to show me where the skid loader (his favorite thing in the world other than his dad) was sitting. He's so funny, because he will run around and around the skid loader like he's herding it. I guess he just wants to make sure it doesn't go anywhere without him ;-)

Unfortunately, after two days of working and herding equipment, Tag is very sore today. He's limping and moving very slow. My poor boy. His body is getting old before it's time. My heart breaks for him. It also makes me crazy with worry. I worry that his constant doing everything at 110% will reduce his longevity, and I just can't stand to think of that.

I'm sure that many of you are wondering why we allow him to go out and run and work when we know that he will be sore later. Well, you probably won't be able to understand, but the truth is that keeping Tag from working with his dad is more agonizing to Tag than the physical pain.

I love my boy, and I just want him to have a good and happy life.

Desktop Meme Part Deux

I was tagged by one of my very good friends - Skittles - to do the desktop meme. She decided to revive this meme, which is fine with me, because I think it is a fun one. When I did this meme before, my desktop proudly displayed some players from the Cleveland Indians baseball team in celebration. Well, I can't have that team on my desktop now, because it makes me miss watching the games too much. I'm certain you will be completely taken off guard when you see what my desktop looks like now.

How to Play:

  • Capture a picture of your computer's desktop.
  • Post it on your blog along with a link to who tagged you.
  • Tag some people.
  • Run and hide from them.

I think I need to hang one of those engraved plaques on my front door containing the warning "Obsessed dog owner lives here. If you do not like dogs or want to talk about dogs - please go bother someone else." Very inviting welcome message, don't ya think?

OK the tag (hehehe my male Border Collie-the one in the middle-his name is "Tag" hehehe):
Tammy
Chica
Kasey
Laurie

Friends... step forward and reveal your desktop ;-)
