I Love Spring
Monday, May 12, 2008
I love Spring! I love the green grass and the blooming flowers and trees. I love eating my lunch at the park and staring at the above beautiful scene, and then walking around the park to see what flowers, butterflies, or birds I might be lucky enough to get a photo of that day. I love driving down the road and seeing the newly born calves romping in the fields. I love that the warmer weather allows me to go outside without bundling up in many layers of clothes. I love driving with the windows rolled down and feeling the wind. Oh yes my friends - nothing can compare to the works of Mother Nature. We can develop extensive technology, such as cpm software, but we will never be able to duplicate the beautiful talents of Mother Nature.

Things of Spring
Monday, March 31, 2008
Spring is here (I think), and I hope it is here to stay! Now, though, is when everything gets busy, and the hard work begins on the farm.
There's fence to be taken down, and fence to be built. All of the trees and limbs which were victim to the ice and snow storms need cut or picked up. And, let's not forget making hay. Have I mentioned I hate hay season? Well, supposedly, it won't be as bad on this farm as it was on the old farm, because, then, we produced hay to sell too. Here, we will just produce enough hay to feed our own cattle (and sheep after I talk Hubs into getting me some sheep again).
There's also the Springtime chores at home, such as mowing lawn and Spring cleaning. It is also time to order dog supplies, such as flea and tick treatment, and, of course, Molly has reminded me that we need to stock up on balls!
All the hard work has it's rewards, though. In addition to the warmer weather, here's my favorite thing about Spring...

Spring Is In The Air
Monday, March 17, 2008
This is not one of my better photographs, but I am excited to post it anyway. Why? You ask. Well, because of that orange belly! You know what that orange belly means to me? It means Spring is almost here! Right now, it's raining and yucky outside, but that's not the point. The point is that everywhere I look now, I'm seeing Robins, and I am reassured that Spring is almost here.
Now, all the golfers will be getting their golf bags out and ready to go. I, on the other hand, keep eagerly thinking about my fishing poles and what I need to do to get them ready. Yes, I'm truly a tomboy.
