Camera-Critters #78
Saturday, October 3, 2009
Both of my Camera Critters posts this week are dedicated to the same beautiful critter... the Monarch butterfly. With work getting so hectic and the colder weather moving in, my critter photos are becoming less and less lately. However, last weekend, I saw these critters everywhere. That's because they are migrating to Mexico. Like a bird, the Monarch butterfly migrates south for the winter. Then, like a bear, the Monarch butterfly hibernates! Pretty neat, huh? Hmmm, that gives me an idea for a children's story.
For more Monarch beauty, check out my post on Misty's Musings. The pictures in that post are special to me, because although there weren't taken under xenon lights, they WERE taken with my new lens!
Don't forget Heads or Tails on Tuesday, Looking at the Sky on Friday, and for your weekend enjoyment...

Ahhhh...those are so beautiful and one of nature's magnificent gifts to enjoy! It is challenging to chase butterflies around with a camera! And, open wings...Wow! Beautiful!

They are so beautiful. We have a bunch at the zoo now; but it is almost impossible to capture them as they hide in the butterfly gardens.

The colors are so vivid - I love it!
It's nice to see this warm weather critter. Won't be much longer 'til it's icky old cold and snow.
By the way... you're the featured HoT blog this month.
Oh My Goodness these are AWESOME! You capture their beauty so sharply. Well done.
Sorry I'm a bit absent recently. I am very hit and miss with commenting at the moment, but I often read blogs so I'm around!
