Camera-Critters #40

This is our cat Mokey...
(c) Misty DawnS

I was on a photo walk, and I saw her
in a ditch.
She was hunting.
(c) Misty DawnS

She's a very good hunter.
Look at that concentration!
(c) Misty DawnS

This is one of Mokey's friends.
I don't know where she finds them.
I swear, Mokey had friends here before I did.
(c) Misty DawnS

I do have a feeling I know
who is responsible for this friend being up in a tree though...
I'll give ya three guesses.

What great photos of the hunt and the visitor. This visitor looks like one of the baby kittens i have.

Hmm, does Mokey ever bring you back trophies from her hunting missions?

Karen said... January 10, 2009 12:39 PM

That is a definite look of concentration.

I like watching cat's stalking their prey. Don't like it much when they actually catch that prey though!!

LOL...who put the cat in the tree ...you? :-)

Surely no one you know would be responsible :P

Carletta said... January 10, 2009 2:21 PM

Both are so cute!
Hmmmm...I wonder if there was a little chasing going on before friend ran up the tree....

Lynda Lehmann said... January 10, 2009 2:27 PM

No wonder you have named her "Monkey." She sure is a climber! :)

Ashrunner said... January 10, 2009 3:47 PM

Cats are sure lucky dogs never learned to climb trees. 8v)

Lovely little kitties.

Love these shots! The stalking concentration is priceless and the "Is it safe?" look of the cat in the tree is quite hilarious!

AppleDebbie said... January 10, 2009 6:11 PM

Awww... your pups wouldn't chase a kitty up a tree... would they? Lol! Have a great weekend, Misty!

Lapa37 said... January 10, 2009 6:45 PM

Is Mokey the one who chased that kitty into the tree?

She certainly looks like an awesome hunter. I love the perch her friend has taken.

My CC shot is here.

Great shots of Mokey. I posted some of Mewsic today. She's an inside cat as I've lost too many critters to the highway, but since she's lived here I've had no mice in my home... first winter in 18 years there's been no mice. Gotta love that.

Just have posted a picture of our cat to, but he's no hunter, more a sleeper :-)

This series brings back memories. Ms Kitty USED to hunt more than she does these days. Keeping her fed regularly caused her to lose her edge, so the birds have returned and she just watches them ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Misty: Mokey probably got out sooner then you to make friends.

I do love watching cats hunting. And Mokey better be nice to her friends and not chase them all up trees. lol

Tammy said... January 12, 2009 8:21 AM

Could it be those adorable three doggies or yours that's responsible?

It was one of those talking cows, right?
