I love Meadowlarks.
I love their bright yellow bellies.
They are very timid and skittish birds though,
and it is very difficult to get close to them.
So, I was absolutely thrilled to make the acquaintance of these Meadowlarks.

However, they would fly a few feet away just when I would start to get close enough which would have allowed me to get a great photo ;-)

Attractive birds - they remind me of several of our varieties all rolled into one.
You got closer than I would have :) I cant be quiet enough to get close to a bird.

These guys are so cute! I usually have tons of the orange bellied Robins around here in the winter, but I haven't seen any this yet year.
