OK, OK, Fair Update
Sunday, September 7, 2008
Well, I am very hesitant to write this post, because I am fearful of sounding like I am 'bragging on myself'. Anyone who knows me, knows I am quite reserved and really do not 'blow my own horn'. But, gosh, sometimes when you are proud of yourself and excited, you want to share it with your friends and family, a.k.a. the people who support you, encourage you, stand by you, give you a boost in self-esteem when you need it... the people who care about you... the people whom you care about. Therefore, I'm writing this post (at the risk of making you think I'm bragging), because all of you support me and encourage me.
This isn't a great shot, but it's what was left of
the photos which were entered in the plant/floral category.
There were a lot more, but people had already taken
most of the photos home.
In this category, I won...
Two Honorable Mentions
(Bee Flying to the Clover and the Skipper on the Clover)
and
First Place
The First Place winner is in the middle there.
What's that you say? Two ribbons?
Oh yeah... that would be because it also won
Best of Show for the entire
photography competition.

This, obviously is the animal category.
I honestly was surprised with my ribbons in this category.
I wasn't so much surprised with the first place ribbon (the horse),
because all of you loved that photo from the beginning.
However, I was surprised that I received second place
for the Viceroy photo (butterfly), rather than the
ferret or the Amish team of horses (not pictured) which
was an immediate favorite of mine.
So, as I've already told you,
in the Animal Category, I won
First Place and
Second Place.

Remember that photo in the middle of the Floral Category
with two ribbons?
Here's a better shot of it :-D
I am absolutely over the moon at the fact that the Best of Shot ribbon is
PURPLE!!!!! WoooHooo - I won a Purple Ribbon!

That's some beautiful garden decor, don't ya think?
Nooooo... Goofy - I don't mean me
(Hmmmm...I do look a little like a garden gnome, don't I though?)
I mean the butterfly!
In addition to these photos,
I also won
Second place in the special theme category,
which was 'Faces of the County',
and
Honorable Mention in the Landscape category
with my hay bales and clouds shot (I've posted it on here for Sky Watch).

OK, that's it... I'm done bragging on my eight ribbons... Honestly, I'm not usually this 'full of myself'. *blush*
