Camera-Critters #15

This is the story of a crazy lady, who thought she could sneak up on a Buzzard sitting on a hay bale. Yeah, you ever tried to sneak up on a big bird who, from clear up in the sky is able to see an itty-bitty mouse running through a field? Yeah... not only is she a crazy lady, she must not be all that bright.

So, you see, this lady spots a buzzard sitting on a hay bale.
She decides to try to get closer for better pictures.
Nah, gotta get closer than this.

Said buzzard notices said lady, and is NOT very amused with the trick she is trying to pull.
"Listen LADY! I've got my wings ready, and I'm NOT afraid to use 'em!
Just a few steps closer, Lady, and I swear I'll..."
(c) Misty DawnS

"That's IT! You've done it! This hay bale ain't big enough for the both of us!"
"HA! Let's see you get up here!"
(c) Misty DawnS

"Yeah, that's what I thought, ya big chicken!"
"Yes, you just got called a chicken by a Turkey Buzzard! What you think you're gonna do about it? Yeah, that's what I thought... just go on your merry way, Crazy Lady."

Speaking of trees...
It's a bird, it's a plane...
No....... it's a Monarch butterfly.

I swear the neighbors could set up home theater seating outside and be continually amused by the antics of the Crazy Lady with the Big Camera and her critters.

Such a cute little commentary to go with wonderful cameras. Very nice just goes to show the frustration of not having a long enough zoom lens.

Misty: Really cool that you got that buzzard on the hay bail and in the tree. Those are fun shots.

Great shots of that buzzard. I enjoyed the amusing captions. The butterfly is beautiful.

You may find mine here.

Great shots, even if the old buzzard didn't want to cooperate! I'd almost bet that if you didn't have the camera in your hand, you could have gotten a lot closer! That's how it always goes for me.

What an entertaining post! AND the pics are great!

I am quite sure I am turning into a crazy lady hunting down pics! If you could have seen me today, rugged up to the hilt with Beatle cap on (to keep the rain off my glasses), umbrella looped into my jeans and that's how I walked the winter beach! Hmmmm

haystacks are a romantic man-made feature of the countryside, like railway tracks and bridges over rivers. these photos make me feel like sitting in a comfortable armchair and reading a good book...

Ha ha! Funny post!

I think the neighbors are laughing at me too. I must look really funny chasing the butterflies around my little back yard.

I love this post - mainly because I know there is at least one other crazy lady on the planet, other than me. ;0)

The shot where the buzzard takes off is fantastic. Perfect.
And of course the butterfly - beautiful.

I seem to be surrounded by lots of wonderful photographers. I love it because I do so poorly and it's great to see photographs by folks that know what they are doing. :)

I have actually never seen a buzzard look almost beautiful before. Maybe because I am not up close to the one on the hay. i know that when I see them at the zoo they invoke the same icky emotions as snakes and baboons do for me.
