Tick-in Me Off
Sunday, May 18, 2008
Anyone have a great tip for keeping ticks off of you? I'm so aggravated, because I can't go for a photo walk along the ditches and to my favorite area in the woods, because the ticks are SO bad here. I'm not exaggerating... the last time I went for a walk back there, when I was returning to the house, each step I took, I would look down and see a tick on my pants. When I would bend down to get the tick off my pants, I would find about six total. This was EVERY step! Now, I don't walk that way, because of the stupid ticks. It would be ignorant of me to realize how bad the problem is and ignore it; Lyme's Disease is not something to take lightly. So, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me, so I could begin taking walks in my favorite area again.
Now, if you saw my Camera-Critters post on my other blog, you will understand that I need to go look through a furniture catalog for a new end table. ;-)

We use Frontline on our dog. It works great too. They need to make something for us humans.
I have no idea, me sorry! I am going to do some googling for you though cuz I don't want my BBFF ticked off. hehehe
Living in West Texas, I've been there/done that many times over. This year, there's a rattlesnake alert. Oh joy! Just what I was wanting, lol. The ticks used to be the worst when we were at the lake because of all the deer. Sadly, nothing really seems to work. Perhaps a golf cart ride might be better? I'm just saying..
I revolve protection on my dogs so they don't build up immunity someone wrote me this weekend that listerine on the person repels however I have not tried it .
I don't really know any tricks for ticks, other than covering every part of yourself. I have a similar problem up here with the mosquitoes. One good thing about the wind that never quits, it does help blow away the worst clouds of mosquitoes! Too bad your wind wouldn't blow away the ticks! :)
