Vessel Sinks
Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Vessel sinks seem to be the newest trend in home decorating. These stylish fixtures, which protrude from bathroom cabinets rather than being set into the surface of them, add a modern look to any bathroom and have begin to catch on in a big way in the U.S. market recently. This style of sink has long been popular in Europe, but their elegant style is being used more and more in American homes as well.
Vessel sinks are often carved from a single piece of stone; quartz or marble are most common. These sinks are made to be mounted on top of a pedestal or cabinet. They tend to be simple in shape and design, with the general shape of a funnel. Vessel sinks range in price from a couple hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the materials and on how intricate the designs are. Vessel sinks that are carved out of a single piece of stone usually cost more, simply because it’s harder to get hold of a larger piece of intact stone. These vessel sinks can be shipped anywhere in the USA, and because they are relatively compact, some of the most successful vendors are actually based online.

Those are the coolest sinks ever! I want one in my dream house...now just to get John to build it for me.
Vessel sinks are so simple and gorgeous looking...although probably not ever feasible in my home!
